In this article you&#8217;ll read about this.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"p1\"><b>Practical benefits of floor coatings<\/b><\/h2>\n<p class=\"p1\">In many cases, floor coatings on concrete floors have the same look and feel as self-levelling floors. The floors have a sleek appearance and are thus absorbed into the working area. Floor coatings offer various practical advantages and aesthetic possibilities. Below you can read the most important ones:<\/p>\n<h3>1.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Hygiene<\/h3>\n<p class=\"p1\">Preventing moisture absorption in and through the floor in wet areas thanks to the <strong>seamless finish<\/strong> and the <strong>sealing effect<\/strong>. The hygienic character is further enhanced when you allow the floor coating to blend into the wall by means of a hollow skirting in combination with a wall coating.<\/p>\n<h3>2.\u00a0\u00a0 <b>Dust repellent effect<\/b><\/h3>\n<p class=\"p1\">If you only want to make a concrete floor dust-resistant, then you do not need a complete floor system, such as an epoxy floor or polyurethane floor. In that case a <strong>dust binder<\/strong> is sufficient. The concrete appearance is retained by applying a transparent, mat coating. This way you <strong>reinforce the surface<\/strong> and<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><strong>preserve the industrial appearance<\/strong> of the room.<\/p>\n<h3>3.\u00a0\u00a0 <b>Finish as desired<\/b><\/h3>\n<p class=\"p1\">Floor coatings on concrete offer several finishing options. For example, you have a choice of a transparent coating, accentuating the visible substrate or a colored coating, creating the desired ambiance in your business premises. The coatings are available in various gloss levels: from mat to high gloss.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">If you choose a colored finish, you can apply the following types of coatings:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b><b>Thin layer coatings.\u00a0<\/b><\/b>Applying these water-based and\/or solvent-containing coatings, you obtain a (dry) coat thickness of 50 to 60 microns per coat. Even after applying three coats, the structure of the substrate will remain visible. The coatings can be made anti-slip by adding a special anti-slip powder with a grain size of 0.1 mm to the last layer.<\/li>\n<li><strong>High solid\/100% solid coatings<\/strong>. With HIM FC450, our sustainable floor finish based on filled epoxy binders, you can apply a coat thickness of approximately 200 microns in one coat. When you apply two layers of this coating, you mask the structure of the substrate. Just like the thin-layer coatings, HIM FC450 can also be made anti-slip. Because of the coat thickness you can not use the anti-slip powder. In this case the first layer is scattered in excess with fire-dried sand in a grain size of 0.2-0.6 mm or even 0.4-0.8 mm (coarse). After curing, the excess sand is removed to finally apply the second coat with a rubber squeegee.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><b>Floor coating on concrete for every budget<\/b><\/h2>\n<p class=\"p1\">Floor coatings on concrete are especially ideal when you are looking for a temporary floor solution at a modest budget.
