Are you looking for a suitable floor for your hospitality project? Over the years our resin floors have contributed to a variety of projects in construction and refurbishing of hotels, restaurants, bars and other forms of hospitality. In this article we share the top three most suitable floors with their application area (s).
Where food is prepared and the floor is regularly exposed to high temperatures, trowel floors are the first choice. The floors are resistant to temperatures of up to 80 °C. Ovens, stoves and other heat sources are therefore no obstacle. The almost indestructible floors also have extremely high shock resistance. Trowel floors are practically insensitive to dents or damage due to falling crockery or cutlery.
Trowel floors are also recommended in the bathroom and toilet areas of restaurants or hotels. With trowel floors it is possible to create camber for good drainage. To ensure that the floor meets the highest possible hygienic standards, we recommend a hollow plinth, finished with a liquid-tight coating, so the floor blends seamlessly into the wall. This way no dirt can end up in the corners, edges and cracks.
Multi-layer floors share many of the benefits of trowel floors, but have a slightly lower impact resistance. If budget plays a role, you are more economical with multi-layer floors, given the lower costs per square meter. If a natural anti-slip effect is desired, multi-layer floors are preferable. A special mixture of quartz sand with a light grainy structure gives the floor its anti-slip effect. This floor type can be found in kitchens and behind bars.
In restaurant areas or guest rooms self-levelling floors based on polyurethane or modified epoxy are recommended. These floors combine character with practical ease of use and fit seamlessly into the interior concept of your catering business. The floors are moisture and chemical resistant and easy to clean. The floors are relatively flexible and therefore offer more walking comfort. From a technical design point of view, an extraordinary amount of options is possible, both in terms of color use and design (plain, concrete look or scattered with flakes).
Every hospitality project is unique. In other words: every catering establishment requires a customized floor plan. We will make an inventory of functionalities desired and have extensive discussions with you. In this way you are assured of the best floor solution. Want to know more?
