Various providers claim to offer it: a cast floor wall. It’s time to dispel a misconception. While it’s indeed possible to create a seamless transition from floors to walls, it’s not achieved through pouring. The same goes for applying wall coatings. But the most important question remains: how do you protect walls against moisture and contamination? Read on for the answers to these questions.
With epoxy cast floors, beautiful, seamless surfaces with liquid-tight properties can be achieved. However, achieving a seamless transition to the wall with a cast floor is not possible due to its self-leveling properties. This is where a trowel floor (also known as mortar floor) comes into play.
With a trowel floor, a (shrink-free) epoxy mortar is spread onto the substrate using a trowel and a float. Thanks to its pasty character, a trowel floor adheres excellently to vertical surfaces as well. This allows for the creation of sanitary coving skirting. If the subfloor is not completely flat or has minor damages, it’s not a problem. Due to its application method, the end result is always smooth and sleek.
Tip: Apply a waterproof and chemically resistant sealing layer on the floor (transition) for optimal hygiene!
Trowel floors with coving skirting are ideal for (work)spaces where strict hygiene regulations apply, such as the food processing industry.

Do you already have a floor (that you want to preserve)? And is coving skirting not necessary? With an epoxy wall coating, you can easily make the wall liquid-tight and resistant to dirt.
This saves a lot of hassle. Because – despite clean and dry entrance mats – rainwater, mud, and sand often end up on the wall unintentionally. In a somewhat porous substrate, moisture and contamination seep directly into the substrate, with all its consequences. Thanks to their sealing effect, epoxy wall coatings are easy to clean.
Application of wall coatings is done using a brush or roller.
